Just an Update

Well I have not posted for a while so I decided to give the blogging world an update on our family.

I guess the most pressing issue in our family is that Aaron has not found a job yet. It is a little crazy. We have gotten one call back from a company in Chicago but they really needed someone in the state and were not willing to wait for relocation. Aaron applies for at least two new jobs a day, but still nothing. It is kinda frustrating. We know that we are not the only people out there looking for a job, our prayers go out to all others in this situation, no one knows better than us how much it stinks!

We have been really blessed though. We are so thankful for all of the help and support we get from our family and friends. You guys are really great! We are doing well and keeping healthy and enjoying the time we have together...most of the time.

Ethan is doing well, he is learning to read and is a wiz at math. He can add numbers up like crazy. I think it is because he is saving up to buy another Bakugan, and his little piggy bank gets bigger and bigger every time he sees grandma or grandpa. Just yesterday he added 13 plus 5...he now has 18 dollars and thinks he can buy three Bakugans, we might see one sad boy in the store tomorrow.

I have been helping out in his classroom this past week doing Assessments for his teacher. It has been so much fun to be in the classroom again. I think that Ethan behaves a little better knowing that mom is right there and she knows everything! He has had a few discipline problems at school. The teacher has a card system to discipline the kids:

Green card: good

Yellow card: Warning

Orange Card: 5 min time out

Blue Card: stay in from recess

Red card: teacher calls home.

Yes friends, I have got the call home. Keep in mind kindergarten is THREE HOURS long. And each day you start on Green. What can I say, he is a talker just like his mom. He is a good kid and he really is trying his hardest.

Little Emilee is doing well. She is a little mother, she mothers every one and everything. She came in the other day and said, "Mom, I am the Mom." I said "oh yeah, what is your name?" She said "Alisha". I didn't know if I should be flattered or not because she went in her room and said to her dolls "You are driving me CRAZY", Well, Emilee does drive me crazy, what do you expect?

Her favorite saying right now is "You are not the boss of Me." or " Don't talk to me". Those sayings usually follow something her daddy or mommy has ask her to do. She soon learns who IS the boss and gets to think about it in time out. I have no idea where she gets her attitude from...I think it is her dad. As mentioned before she loves anything to do with princesses and has recently started singing princess songs from the Disney movies around the house. Once in a while she throws a Momma Mia song in there...It makes me so proud and drives Aaron nuts, he thinks I am contaminating her already. Whatever.

I had a great weekend with my husband this Valentine Weekend. Aaron's Mom had the kids and it was so great to do what we wanted to do! I was able to clean the whole house in an hour and a half! AND it stayed that way! We had a great dinner with some amazing friends, went to the Sadie Hawkins dance at church, played lots of games, laughed until we cried and were just together. Aaron made orange rolls for breakfast and brought them to me in bed. Saturday morning we didn't get out of bed until 11, I can't tell you how long it has been since I have been able to do that, it was really great!

Anyway, there you go, an update on the Dawdy family. We really are doing well and are blessed for everything we have. Sending our love to you...

Love, Us

I'm sorry about the job hunt. What cummy stuff.

I love your kids! Emilee is so funny and she always makes me feel good when she calls me her friend.

Thanks for the offer of help. I may need it sometime. Myles has been unusually corroperative lately and I think it is Heavenly Father really just helping me out. Hopefully my body will knock it off.

I would totally have been the kid to get the red card! And one time I drew all over a book from the library because I was being the "teacher" to my dolls. My mom was so MAD because she had to pay for the whole book. I WILL see YOU on Wednesday!

Glad you guys had a good weekend, good luck on the continued job search.

Emilee is just too stinkin cute! We definatly see ourselves mirrored in our kids. If Jerimiah could say more than he does I think I would be very afraid.

We're just downstairs if you ever need a break!

Your family is so cute!! Hey you asked me how I changed my font and I did it by going to thecutestblogontheblock.com and they had a way to do it on there. Hopefully it is still there. Anyways take care and we love you in Primary! Thanks for all you do!

I remember the dreaded card system. I had to pull my first card ONCE and I was so mad at the boy who got me in trouble. Guess I still haven't forgiven him...

Um, I, too, have overheard Taj say, "You guys are making me CRAZY!" Um...he must have got that from...tv... And Brody is SO two years old these days--his most common phrase is "I DON'T LIKE YOU!" So I feel we are sharing some good times right now. Let's have a girls' night to discuss. :)

Thanks for the update - still crying from the laughing pains of that dance night and from the pains of my crazy dancing. Love you friend and you are in our prayers.
