This past weekend I took the kids to the Home Depot to their free kids workshop. We went with Grandma, Keri and the boys. The kids loved it, Home Depot really does a great job. They made little toy wagons. There were a ton of people there but the kids were good about being patient and sharing tools, unlike some of the adults there, whole other story though.
Emilee of course was Miss Independent and wanted to do a lot of it on her own, thank goodness Grandma was there and was patient with her.

Ethan did a great job. He could have probably put the whole wagon together by himself. We made it through with all ten fingers
and no need for
band aids. Ethan only hit my finger with the hammer once, but to his credit they were really small nails.

Santa was there and the kids got to tell him what they wanted. I didn't really hear what they said to him but I am pretty sure Santa has their toys all wrapped and in the bag, hopefully he guessed right!

After they were done both kids ask me if that was the real santa. What do you say to that? "Yes, Santa hangs out at the Home Depot all the time?" "Sure, santa has a cheap white beard and crushed velvet suit, and he is tired from making all the toys so that is why he seemed a little off today." What the heck? I ask Ethan what he thought and he said that he thought he was just one of Santa's helpers, not the REAL one. Oh these kids!

How cute! I love that answer to awkward kid questions.."weellll, what do you think?"
Fun!! You're such a good mommy:) I just hibernate when I'm pregnant!
Dang! Alisha- I was hoping this was a post saying you had had your baby! What the heck??? Still cute though! I love that Home dopot does these! I wish I had the guts to take all my kids there sometime and do a craft!
Love that you told me about that cool thing at Home Depot. Wish we could have done it together though. We went and saw Santa at Wal Mart after the Home Depot and let's just say the Home Depot one your kids went too looks as real as contractions compared to that one. Pillow stuffing and all, it was ridiculous. And Ryan and Ethan must have been discussing Santa because Ryan said the same thing about the store santa's being helpers. what is the age when they find out? Ryan says 2 kids in his class already don't believe. I still believe so I think he should :) Great post!
LOL we totally had one of those moments at the Santaquin light parade. There was 2 santas one right after the other and our neice asked how come there were 2 santas? Ummmm... One was a helper? GOtta love kids! Let me know when Baby Grayson shows up so I can come bring you some dinner!!!
What a great idea! And what?! There is no way I would do this when I was wishing I was having my baby any minute--you are such a great mom!
Yeah...just a helper.
